Beginning Acting

Carla Brothers a professional actor who has appeared in film, television, and on Broadway. She has starred in the films The Five Heartbeats and 10,000 Black Men Named George.  On television she has done guest spots on Cosby, Third Watch, Guiding Light, One Life to Live, and numerous commercials. On Broadway she starred in Shelia's Day.

Acting awards include an AUDELCO Award Best Actress nomination for NFT’S production of Moon on a Rainbow Shawl.

Carla served as an acting instructor for the Young Peoples Acting Program at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film in NYC. Since then, she has conducted acting workshops and classes throughout the New York metropolitan area.

Carla Brothers holds a BFA in Theater from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Eric Coleman is a veteran actor and director. His many acting credits include the title roles in Nat Turner, Ira Aldridge, Hamlet, and Othello for such theater companies as the Negro Company, Riverside Shakespeare, and UBU Repertory. He was the winner of the New York Fringe Festival Best Actor Award for Strindberg’s PARIA, and AUDELCO Award winner as Best Director for two plays on Negro League baseball—- Satchel Paige and Josh Gibson, produced by NFT.

Other directing credits include The Meeting, With Grits and Gravy, Killing of Sam Cooke, Purple Hearts, 3 On the Fringe, and J.e. Franklin’s Freedom Summer.
