Robert Joel Schwartz was an American painter and set designer who worked off-off-Broadway, and most frequently at the Pearl Theater on St. Marks Place.
The set design model he created for a 1988 production of Sophocles’ Electra recently sold at fine art auction.
According to his artists’ bio, he died in 2000 at the age of 53.
