Mutiyat Ade-Salu

Mutiyat Ade-Salu earned a BA majoring in Music/Theatre from the University of Michigan in 2007, and an MFA in performance from the University of Louisville in 2020. She founded The Vineyard Entertainment in 2016. Activities with Vineyard include:

Developed New York City showcase of FEAST: A Yoruba Project after being selected for residency at The DREAM Center Harlem. Produced team of 8 Afro-Brazilian artists for FEAST in Sao Paulo, Brazil and team of 13 artists at HERE Arts Center (Summer Sublet Series) and MoCADA Museum in New York with budget of $10,000.

Playwright-in-Residence, Chicago, IL, 2017-2018: Mounted my debut stageplay, Sunny Came Home, for 4-week production run after being selected for year-long residency at Fehinty African Theatre Ensemble. Wrote and edited several drafts for rehearsals and private readings with director and actors to facilitate the understanding of the 1st generation Nigerian-American experience.

Artist-in-Residence, Tacoma, WA, 2016-2017: Instructed two 9th -grade level classes for 9-month residency at Summit School Olympus for the We.APP Studio, LLC. Guided young scholars in writing essays, speeches, and skits that addressed issues of bullying, peer-pressure, self-esteem, leadership, gender roles, and diversity. Directed culminating project at the end of the school year for parents, administrators and the general public.

Contributing Editor, New York, NY, 2016-2017: Wrote online articles about entrepreneurial lifestyle and business innovation in the arts sector as Editor for Entrepreneurship and Innovation for the online publication Applause Africa (now known as Society for Africans in the Diaspora).
